yes. brains, you have them. use them.
all scams in eve are pitifully transperent if you dont let your greed run away with you.
sadly, people see a "sisters scan probe launcher" on the market for 15 mil, and jump on it without thinking.
but thats hardly CCP's problem. on the contrary, they encourage it! |

I am talking about having to trust someone and they pull the rug under you, anyone can be scamed or tricked that way even if they promise to return the items, so I believe if the items stolen or items not given for isk you already paid for will be forcablty returned if it gos over 250mil in cost.
it doesn't go into the area of brains, its a area of trust, which form my end a different view on this problem. if its a "contract" then its the victim's fault, but if you have to trust the person and in the chat log within the month states he WILL return your items, then ccp should act against it. its the area of keeping people that feed on getting trust and ****ing them over is the point I am making here, anyone can be messed up in that way no matter how "smart" you are.
this is precicely the behavoir CCP is trying to engourage.
a quote from the wikipedia article on eve:
"Virtual crime
Piracy (in the ship-to-ship sense) is part of the game, as is protection racketeering and theft. One example is the corporate heist perpetrated by the in-game assassin's guild Guiding Hand Social Club (GHSC). GHSC infiltrated a target corporation over the course of nearly a year before performing a virtual assassination on the target's CEO and stealing or destroying billions of ISK worth of property with which the CEO had entrusted them.[67] Events of this nature are debated both inside the game world and in the media.[68]
Such dangers are an inherent part of Eve Online's virtual economy and thus are purposely not dealt with by the developers.[69] Players are expected to make financial decisions based (among other factors) on the possibility of other players' financial malpractice, much like in real-life economics."
people will shaft you. eve is like life in this respect. keep an eye on your stuff, and trust people only as far as you would be prepared to lose if they shaft you.

if somone is scammed and leaves the game because of their own dumb mistakes then they are welcome to emoquit
corp thefts keep the economy stable and provide many political aspects to the game.

it seems OP doesn't quite understand whats going on here.
the rest of us are smart enough not to get scammed. the rest of us dont mind when silly idiots get scammed, whether its because they accepted a bad contract or because they gave directorship of their corp to someone they knew for four days, and he cleaned out the hangar.
its Darwinism in action. the weak shall perish etc.
and its bloody hilarious to watch.

Actually, it isn't. Might I suggest you read up on natural selection before making such claims. And this is the year to do it, too! 200 years since his birth and 150 years since the publication of The Origin of Species. Lots of good books being published this year because of those two anniversaries that, if you read them, would disabuse you of your false notions.
damn it, i was doing so well, and you ahve to go and break my flow with science
